About Me
From an early age, art has been the way Jamie Sinclair navigates and expresses the world around him. It began as an escape, a personal exploration of the visual realm, even before fully grasping the depth of what that meant. Inspired by the words of Bob Ross, who famously said, "This is your world, and you can do anything you want," he has always seen the canvas as a space of limitless possibilities.
His artistic journey has been deeply influenced by a diverse range of sources. Drawn to the intricacies of portraiture, wildlife, and fantasy art, Jamie found early inspiration in comic book legends such as 2000AD, Spider-Man, X-Men, and The Crow, which had a profound impact on his style. Simultaneously, they have been captivated by the masterpieces of the Renaissance, driven by a fascination with the meticulous detail and profound emotional depth achieved by artists centuries ago. His goal has always been to reach that level of mastery—capturing not just the intricate details, but the very soul of the subject.
While perhaps best known for his work with airbrush paintings, Jamie’s artistic practice also includes Oil, Acrylic and drawing in pencil and charcoal. He believes that a deep understanding of form, values, and composition is essential to bringing art to life. Although one can be a good artist without being an exceptional draftsman, Jamie is convinced that studying gesture and composition, and mastering how values can create a three-dimensional effect, enhances an artist's ability to convey emotion and realism.
In addition to their personal artistic endeavors, Jamie is committed to supporting and strengthening the local art community. He is the current chairman of the Marwell International Wildlife Art Society based out of Marwell Zoo and working closely with Pip McGarry who started the Marwell Art Society and is the President of MIWAS.
Jamie was previously the Chairman and Director of the Southern Nature Art Exhibition. Jamie is dedicated to fostering collaboration and providing platforms for artists. In his view, art is not a competition but a communal effort to enrich the cultural landscape.
Their work has been recognized in several exhibitions, with recent achievements including:
